  PERSONAL GUIDANCE   It refers to that type of guidance where a person or individual overcome their problem on their own. Also, it is the assistance that is provided to an individual to solve their social, mental, morals, health, and ethical problems. (i) It is needed to develop all personal and social qualities that would enable the individuals in solving personal problems and seeking better adjustments. (ii) It is meant to overcome the personal problems of personality adjustment of every individual. (iii) It gives importance on the personal and social needs of the pupils or individuals. (iv) It is linked with our day-to-day life. (v)It is an answer to our big question what and what not we should be. (vi) It is meant for deciding what habits, attitudes and values we should develop.   VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE   Vocational Guidance  means assistance given to an individual in solving problems related to vocational planning and to occupational choice and profess with due regard for the individual’s characteristics and their relation to occupational opportunities. 1) to suggest measures with a view to enhancing the employability of an individual or groups of individuals; 2) to offer assistance to an individual or groups of individuals in preparing to choose, change and adjust to occupational life; 3) to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the individuals and match them with the job requirements ; 4) to generate awareness and appreciation of the realities of employment market in the community; 5) to collaborate or co-operate with other agencies in the field of guidance to stimulate and promote joint efforts; and 6) to promote self-employment.

It is a process concerned with the assistance given to pupils in their choices and adjustments with relation to schools, curriculums, courses and school life. GUIDANCE   “ Guidance is a means of helping individuals to understand and use wisely the educational, voca­tional and personal opportunities they have or can develop and as a form of systematic assistance whereby students are aided in achieving satisfactory adjustment to school and to life.” Like education, guidance is a process which is meant to enable child or individual to manifest innate potentialities or noble qualities for his develop­ment touching social development as well. Education and guidance are both take utmost care for the development of the child and man which is the real goal of life. Owing to this reason it is proved that guidance is also as educational process which ul­timately states that guidance is education itself.
